Last night saw the start of degree show season in Leeds with the grand opening of Leeds Metropolitan University's degree show 2014. As promised it was the social event of the season!
It was fantastic to see work that I had previously seen in progress at other exhibitions and new work that became beautiful surprises. Each floor had a show that was flawlessly executed and laid out with plenty of room to view despite the hoards of people, with more and more arriving as the evening went on. The diversity of art was well played too, everything from animation to installations and photography to interactive works.
It was strange to think that a year ago I was in their position (drunk and excited about the show, yet anxious to find out results a few days later). They should be very proud of all their hard work and I'm sure it will all pay off when the grades come in.
Congratulations Leeds Metropolitan University School of Art, Architecture and Design! Another year of brilliantly talented artists and designers to be proud of.
